Georgiana Scott
Georgiana R. Scott
has practiced family law on the Front Range of Colorado since 1994.
She practices in both the traditional divorce model and the collaborative
divorce model. As divorce litigation
counsel, Georgiana believes in thoughtful, creative and pragmatic solutions to individual
and family divorce-related issues.
Georgiana began
her training in collaborative law in 2004 and is now a Level II collaborative attorney. In collaborative law, divorcing couples
commit not to go to Court and to resolve their differences with mutual respect,
dignity and without litigation. It
is her firm belief that every couple and family is benefitted by avoiding court
intervention. In her experience as
a collaborative attorney, Georgiana has seen first-hand the benefits and reduction
in stress for persons and families who use the collaborative model.
Georgiana's particular focus is to assist families and individuals
create post-divorce relationships which allow them to co-parent successfully and
manage their post-divorce financial affairs with ease.
During her years
in the profession, Georgiana has devoted hundreds of hours to assisting low-income
and indigent persons with their legal concerns.
She has served on non-profit
boards of organizations which provide psychological treatment to the indigent and
help for at-risk children. Georgiana
also served as marketing director for Thistle Community Housing which provides housing
for low-income individuals in Boulder County.
Georgiana is a trained
mediator and has an associate real estate broker's license.
